Dmoz DMOZ came into existence in order to help out those who felt that searching and surfing the net was difficult. After taking a look at DMOZ, the opinion of the people changed and they now use DMOZ to search the net. Unlike its competitors, ODP is maintained and devised by volunteers and not high-paid full-time workers. This is what makes ODP different from others as the volunteers try their level best to make the site worth visiting.
